A neuropsychological evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of how the brain is functioning across a range of skills. It helps clarify diagnoses, identify strengths and areas of vulnerability, and guide practical next steps at home, in school, and in treatment.

Neuropsychological evaluation to help families understand learning, attention, and emotional functioning

Common referral questions

  • Is ADHD, anxiety, depression, autism, or a learning disorder contributing to current difficulties?
  • Why is there a gap between potential and performance?
  • What accommodations (IEP/504, standardized testing) may be appropriate?
  • How can treatment and school supports be targeted more effectively?
  • Are medical/neurological factors playing a role (e.g., epilepsy, prematurity, complex medical history)?

What we assess

Depending on referral needs, testing may include:

  • Intellectual and reasoning abilities
  • Academic achievement (when relevant)
  • Attention and concentration
  • Learning and memory
  • Language skills
  • Visual-spatial processing
  • Executive functioning (planning, organization, flexibility)
  • Social/emotional functioning

Because evaluations are individualized, testing may take up to ~6 hours and can be spread across two days if preferred.
